Museum of African American Music to Open In Nashville This Summer | Kayla | Star 102.1

The National Museum of African American Music is set to open this Summer in downtown Nashville.

The Museum president and CEO Henry Beecher III and senior curator Dina Bennett join recently had this to say about the opening on, ‘CBS This Morning,

“A new museum in Nashville aims to preserve the legacy of African American music. The National Museum of African American Music will be the only institution dedicated to showcasing music genres created, influenced, and inspired by black Americans. Since 2002, the museum has raised $60 million and collected 1,500 artifacts.”

Here’s what to look forward to according to NMAAM, a 56,000-square-foot facility that will encourage visitors to discover the many connections and influences from classical to country to jazz and hip hop with a unique narrative.
