And if you didn’t know “GIF” is not pronounced with a hard G but a smooth J, like Jif. The J.M. Smucker Company has teamed up with Giphy to remind us how it really should be said. Together they released limited-edition jars of Jif peanut butter labeled Gif instead of Jif.
I know what you’re thinking “Guh-if.” But no! The creator of the GIF, Steve Wilhite, let it be known that it is in fact “jif.”
