Last month the parents of Lucas Hembree wanted to make his 13th birthday extra special and asked everyone to send him cards for his birthday. His parents gave us an update and Lucas has received over six-thousand birthday cards with more to come.
He has a genetic disorder called, Sanfilippo syndrome, and his doctors didn’t think he would make it to ten years old, but he has made it to the big One-Three (13) and celebrated his birthday in style.
Multiple agencies of Blount County’s finest came out to celebrate with birthday boy Lucas. And Knox County Sheriff’s stopped by with their K-9 Unit that weekend to celebrate.
