You either loved or hated The Weeknd’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, there seems to be no in between. I loved it. It was visually stunning, and his vocals sounded amazing.

It might have been confusing if you aren’t aware of the running storyline from his After Hours album. Those were not jockstraps on the background dancers faces, they were bandages, and here’s the reason why: “The significance of the entire head bandages is reflecting on the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity and people manipulating themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated,” The Weeknd.
