NBC has canceled next years Golden Globes awards after a series of controversies. Those include a severe lack of diversity, preferential treatment, misuse of funds, and allegations of sexism and abuse. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who puts on the awards, say they are committed to reform, and if they do, it’s possible the show will return in 2023. However, damage has already been done. Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo are on the growing list of actors who have spoken out against the Globes, and Tom Cruise has gone as far as returning his 3 awards.
