Okay yesterday an article went around where everyone took it as you are not supposed to wash your jeans, EVER. But here is some clarity from what Levi CEO, Chip Bergh, really meant..
He does rarely wash his jeans, but does say, yes if you get curry on them please spot wash them. Curry is his example, but really anything that needs to be spot washed, wash it out. He also says he rarely puts them in the washer, but will hand wash them and let them hang dry. Okay, that’s not so crazy, but another way he recommends to wash them when they get really dirty is IN THE SHOWER. WHILE WEARING THEM. You cover them in soap like you would your legs.
WHATTTTTTT?!?!?! So you wash your jeans but not your body? This is mind blowing and crazy, but also like if the CEO of Levi says this is how it’s supposed to be done. It feels pretty credible.
