Reba McEntire found success with her show Reba back in the early 2000s, and she’s making her comeback into comedy with a new NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place, which just so happens to take place in Knoxville.
According to TV Insider, the synopsis of the show will be,
…reliable Bobbie, who inherits her dad’s Knoxville tavern, Happy’s Place, her workplace for 10 years, only to discover the new co-owner is a younger, 20-something half-sister she never knew she had.
In the trailer for the show, you’ll even catch UT and Knoxville-related memorabilia on the walls of the bar.
WBIR says that Reba’s been to Knoxville numerous times to perform, take vacations, and visit a friend who lives here.
Melissa Peterman, who starred in Reba, will also be a part of the new sitcom. So will Reba’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, who will be playing a short-order cook at the tavern.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Reba said that the new show will be,
heartfelt, fun, funny, laugh at our silliness. But also, [you’ll] be touched with the heart in the show.
Happy’s Place premieres on NBC on Friday, October 18th at 8 p.m.
