Hometown: Knoxville, TN Lives in Halls (God’s Country) I’ve done a little bit of everything during my 24 year media career. I’ve been a radio Production Manager, Promotions and Marketing Director, Account Executive, Sales Manager. I’ve also been in billboard sales and Creative Services Director for a local TV station. Family/Pets: Husband Ralph (Married 14 years) precious son Eli (7) and dogs Sophi (Boxer) and Lacie (Yorkie) Hobbies: I’ve taken up running…yes, I AM a runner. I love the freedom of hitting the road and clearing my head while enjoying the beauty of East Tennessee. I NEVER thought I would be a runner, but I love it. For now, I’m sticking to 5k’s…we’ll see what happens. Favorite Band/Artist: PRINCE is my all-time favorite. Of course, pretty much anything from the 80’s is great with me. More recent music I enjoy is anything by Adele, Bruno Mars, Flo Rida and most things with an “urban” slant…but not too, too. Celebrity Crush: I’ve always had a thing for George Clooney. Does Ferb from Phineas and Ferb count (I’ve always been a sucker for a nerd) Ellen Degeneres would be my ‘girl crush’ Guilty Pleasure Song: Probably Garth Brooks “Friends in Low Places. I’ve NEVER been a country fan, but somehow this song ‘spoke to me’ and I can sing every word. Sad, I know. Number One Item on Your Bucket List: Travel the world in a I don’t have any other responsibilities kind of way. Favorite Thing(s) About Living In Knoxville: My family is here so that would have to be number 1. The great weather…we NORMALLY have 4 seasons. The kindness of those who live here. Our lakes…no better way to spend the summer than on Norris lake. Our walking/running trails. The beauty of the mountains that look as if we could reach out and touch them. We have so many to choose from. Access to Dollywood, one of the nation’s top-rated amusement parks. Describe Yourself in Three Words: Wife. Mother. Friend…or……Audacious, Fun. Sincere………or………She did not! How Did You Become Interested In Radio?: I originally wanted to be a Special Ed teacher, but cried every day once I started working with the students while still in school. That’s when I switched to Broadcasting…my brother always said I should get paid for talking because that’s what I did best. I love that we have a platform to really effect change and make a difference to others. Favorite Career-Related Memory: Being a part of the one-year memorial in New York City following the September 11th attacks. To see the nation truly come together following such a terrible time for our country. Meeting the families who had suffered so much and yet still carried on…raising their children and living, because that’s what we do. Hearing the promises that we would rebuild and be even stronger as a nation…………..of course, there’s also the most memorable Prize Mobile-Traffic Light incident. We have the opportunity to be a part of so many important events throughout the community. I truly love meeting our listeners. Hearing their stories and sharing my own. It’s a very special thing when you can wake up before the crack of dawn each day and do something you truly love. I’m blessed to say that’s how it is for me.
